All fleets that are sailing today have launched. The drizzle has stopped, visbility has improved, and the wind is steady at the moment. We are hoping racing will start on time at 11.00pm. |
| 09:25 |
Good Morning |
The weather today is not good. There is a fine Welsh drizzle, wind is 15 knots dropping to 11 knots, south turning south westerly. Visibility is poor, so once again we are waiting for the weather to be kind to us.....it s forcasted to be bright and sunny and 23degrees - so who knows? Well done to the Belgian boats yesterday in Race 6 who achieved a 1, 2 in this race....great to see a variety of numbers across the line first. Before I sign off for now I would like to apologise for any typos (my husband has been picking me up on them - it is just very excited fingers when I am typing rather than a lack of literacy). Thats all for now I will keep you updated as to launching etc., |
|
| 9/August/2007 |
| 18:32 |
and finally...... |
All fleets are safely home, apologies for poor reporting today but I have not had the information from the water - I think even the parents are feeling weary now. Hopefully it will be more exciting tomorrow when there will be one crucial race to win. It has continued to be sunny here and the wind has been good for our young sailors. I'm off now to view a large hole in a small red boat - no wonder she didn't get near those front runners in Silver fleet! Hey ho! Sigi signing off - I better go and investigate the beer at the Dutch happy hour on my way to the dinghy park. |

GOOD MORNING - it is Wednesday 8th August |
We have woken up at 6.00am to brilliant sunshine! However at that time there was no wind! Today the Promotional fleet will be split into Gold and Silver Fleets and so the reporting will be: Worlds Fleet, Gold Fleet, Silver Fleet and Novice Fleet. I hope I dont get them muddled up!! I will do my best for you all......at the moment the Race Officer for the Worlds, Roger, is going out to find the wind as he does not want to have the children 'baking' on the water and will call them out when the wind picks up. For now the dinghy park is a busy hum of colourful spinnakers and happy competitors - there is a flurry of 'tweaking' going on. Prizegiving for Monday will take place at 9.00 am today. For those who do not know, the prizes this year have been made locally and are fashioned from Welsh Slate. They are a highly desirable piece of prizeware....all the competitors have been given a Welsh Slate coaster with the event logo on it in their Worlds goody bag - a gift worth having I feel. We have had a great round of social events which on Monday was in the form of a Welsh Band and traditional dancers. All those present took part and had a very funny evening. Tonight we have a sandcastle building competition and boules on the beach - lets hope the weather holds till then. More later - Sigi. |
