The Corinthian Otters Squadron Update 2023

Our training at Fishers Green continues to flourish; the cadets are settling into the helm and crew routines and having a great time. The fantastic venue, the two lead coaches, and the two ex-cadet trainers have moved this group on.

This learning to sail the fun way is brilliant for cadets and parents; at the end of each day, we have many happy children and parents.

The third Saturday was a very light day, and no wind in the afternoon; capsize practice was the afternoon activity, and all cadets joined in. Much to the surprise of some parents, the pictures of children having fun were one to remember.

The final Saturday met everyone's expectations finishing with thanks to our hosts and our trainers; a job very well done.

Back to Burnham the following weekend for mast rake settings and sailing later in the morning. Easter next Easter eggs are always worth racing for only four boats out due to family holidays. A good day with light winds, so a paddle race? Followed by two sailing races as the wind filled in on the river.

Next is the big event at Burnham Cadet Selector on April 22 nd and 23 rd looking forward to this event. Racing is all organised, and afternoon sports if Arky gets us back in time. In the evening we have Magic Daves Magical Mayhem make sure your parents let you stay its’s good fun.
